Beavis
Brian, more commonly known as Beavis, is one of the founding members of the Motley Players III. He has contributed to the group as an actor, improviser, host, writer and most recently, as a podcast personality.
In his twelve year history of performing, Beavis has also taken his hand as an improvisational comedy instructor (with the Scarborough Academy of Performing Arts) for both new and veteran performers alike, teaching beginning improv for kids, teaching character development for beginning child actors and lighting and set design.
He was involved in a local production of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged” by the Reduced Shakespeare Company with the other two members of the Motley Players Three and has performed with the premier improv group of San Antonio, the Oxymorons.
Beavis has also, for the last two years, been performing at a local theater doing children’s shows such as School House Rock, Live!, Robin Hood, Androcles and the Lion, Mulan and Texas. He has been involved, in a technical capacity, with 101 Dalmations and the Jungle Book.
Beavis works as a set designer/set builder for the same theater designing and building sets for plays such as Annie, Mulan, You Can’t Take it With You, Space Pandas, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Footloose, Godspell, Aladdin, Dear Edwina, Sound of Music and many others.
When not performing, he likes shopping antique and thrift stores, reading up on trivial, historical factoids, wargaming, renaissance faires and live theater. Oh…and drinking beer….
